What Canon camera lens do you recommend for everyday use and travel?

Right now i’m just using the standard 18-55mm lens that came with my camera but I’d like a little better quality and maybe a little more zoom. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

I recommend the Canon 28-200 because I own one. It’s built very tough, sharp, fast and accurate focus. It’s a little heavy, about 1 pound, but it will give you both the wide and reach you’ll want.
Here’s an example of what I mean by sharp, accurate focus. Look at this portrait and closely at his eyes – you can’t help but notice how sharp they are.

Oh, I nearly forgot – $400 at B&H, where I got mine. Check them here.

The 18-200 mm may not be the sharpest in the lot–but you’ll only have to carry one when you travel.
Depends on what you’re willing to spend. The 15-85mm EF-S lens is really nice, compact, very good quality and that extra bit of zoom both directions (~$700). The 18-200mm isn’t too bad either if you care more about the telephoto end (~$600).
Or if you want two lenses there’s a lot of combinations you can have, I just upgraded to an EF-S 17-55mm (~$1100) and an EF 70-300mm (~$550). A little more weight but the quality on both is outstanding.
What I’d recommend is going to canon’s website and browsing through the lenses they have. Do some research on the ones you narrow down on, and then you’ll get just what you want.
Canon 18-200mm is a good walk around lens. Provide better picture quality. Good for both wide and zoom shot.
