How do I clean dried spittle off a big camera lens?

I accidentally spit on my Pentax-M 1.4 50mm camera lens. I did not touch it until about six hours later.
I tried daubing the lens with alcohol and then lighter fluid, but I can’t get the dried spit off the lens.

Spit eh? Good one, you can get jizz off your lens with some elbow grease and water.
Try lens cleaner.
I think you did more damage with the lighter fluid & alcohol!!!
Take it to a camera store to see what they can do for you.
p.s. And please get a UV filter to protect it.
Distilled water on a damp cloth would be my only recommendation. I hope the lighter fluid or alcohol didn’t damage the coating on the front element of your 50mm lens.
This is another reason why every lens should have a protective 1a or uv filter permanently mounted.
